Legal

Terms and Conditions

What you agree to by using immigrantsdating.com, and what we commit to in return. Written to be read, not to be skipped.

Draft for review. These documents are a thorough starting point, not legal advice. A dating service handles special category personal data, so have a solicitor review this before taking real signups. Placeholders in square brackets still need filling in.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

immigrantsdating.com ("ImmigrantsDating" or "the Service") is run by Shpetim Braushaj, trading as ImmigrantsDating (a sole trader), [REGISTERED ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@immigrantsdating.com.

These Terms are the agreement between you and us when you use the Service. Our Privacy Policy explains what we do with your personal data; please read it too, because it describes how the Service works in practice.

By creating an account and ticking the box to accept these Terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

ImmigrantsDating is a dating community for people who have made a home somewhere new. Registration is open worldwide and matching works anywhere: distance is only a tie-breaker, and you can say whether you are open to long distance.

Anyone aged 18 or over is welcome to join, whatever their nationality, origin or immigration status, and that includes people born in the UK. We never ask about your immigration status, and you never need to tell us.

2. You must be 18 or over

The Service is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, and when you sign up you confirm that you are. We may also ask you to pass an age check (see section 4).

If we learn or reasonably suspect that an account belongs to someone under 18, we suspend it straight away and remove it. If you think a member is under 18, please report them or email us — we treat these reports as urgent. Where a child may be at risk, we may also pass information to the police or other appropriate authorities.

If we find child sexual exploitation or abuse on the Service, we suspend the accounts involved and report it to the National Crime Agency, as UK law requires (section 66 of the Online Safety Act 2023, in force since 7 April 2026).

The person accountable for how we meet our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023, including protecting children, is Shpetim Braushaj, the operator.

3. Your account

You may have one account, and it must be genuinely yours: use your real first name, your real age and recent photos of yourself. You may not create an account for someone else, pretend to be someone else, or let anyone else use your account.

Please keep your details accurate and up to date. You will need to confirm your email address before you can use your account.

Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account, so tell us straight away at hello@immigrantsdating.com if you think someone else has got into it. If you forget your password, you can reset it by email.

4. Verification

Every member is verified before anyone else can see them. You take a selfie in the app, and a member of our moderation team compares it with your profile photos. Until that is done, your profile is not shown to other members. Only moderators ever see the selfie; how long we keep it is set out in our Privacy Policy.

If the selfie does not clearly match your photos, we will ask you to take it again. We may ask you to verify again if we have good reason to doubt that an account is genuine.

Please do not try to fool the check — for example with someone else's face, an edited image or a photo of a screen. Doing so is grounds for suspension.

We may also ask you to complete an age check during verification, to make sure every member is an adult. A specialist provider would carry it out, using either facial age estimation (software estimates your age from a live image of your face) or an ID check (the provider checks an identity document and that it matches your face). If you are asked to take one, your profile is not shown to other members until you pass. Our Privacy Policy explains what data this involves, and we will add the provider's details, and tell you, before any age check starts.

Verification tells other members that the person in the photos is the person who took the selfie. The selfie check does not confirm anyone's legal name, it is not a background check, and it says nothing about anyone's character or intentions.

5. How to treat other members

ImmigrantsDating only works if people feel safe here. When you use the Service, you must not do any of the following.

Harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone, or keep contacting someone who has made clear they do not want to hear from you.

Post or send anything hateful, including content that attacks people for their nationality, immigration status, race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

Post, send or share nude or sexual images, or sexually explicit content of any kind, anywhere on the Service. This covers your profile and photos, private messages and voice notes, and it applies even between matches and even if the other person asks for it. ImmigrantsDating is not a place for sexual content: if we find it, or it is reported to us, we remove it and may suspend the account, and repeated or serious breaches lead to suspension.

Make unwanted sexual comments or advances, pressure anyone to send intimate images, or share, or threaten to share, anyone's intimate images. Intimate image abuse, and anything sexual involving someone under 18, means immediate suspension, and we may report it to the police.

Ask any member for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank details or financial help of any kind, however genuine the reason sounds. This is the clearest sign of a romance scam, and it leads to permanent removal.

Offer, ask for or arrange a marriage, civil partnership or relationship for immigration or visa purposes — such as a "marriage for papers" — or offer anyone a visa, residence or other immigration status, or help getting one, in return for money or anything else. These can be serious crimes, and we may report them to the police or other authorities. Talking about your own journey to the UK is welcome; this rule is about using relationships or money to get immigration status.

Pretend to be, or to act for, a government or immigration official, a police officer, a lawyer, a solicitor or an immigration adviser — for example to frighten someone about their status, or to ask for fees or documents. We may report this to the police or other authorities.

Use the Service if you are under 18, or seek contact with anyone you know or suspect is under 18.

Lie about who you are, impersonate anyone, or run a fake or second account.

Use the Service for commercial purposes: no selling, advertising, recruiting, promoting other apps or websites, or offering or seeking sexual services.

Share someone else's personal information — such as their contact details, address or photos — without their permission, or post anything you do not have the right to share.

Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools, copy data from the Service in bulk, or try to get around our security, rate limits, blocks or verification.

Break the law, or encourage anyone else to.

6. Safety — what we do, and what we cannot do

We verify every profile before it becomes visible, let you block or report anyone you are talking to in the app (and anyone else by email), and have real people review reports and act on them.

We also automatically check bios, like notes and messages against a short list of words linked to scams, sexual solicitation and hate. A match is shown to a moderator, who decides what, if anything, to do. If a message you receive mentions money or moving to another app, we may show you a safety tip.

Blocking someone ends any match between you, and you will no longer see or be able to contact each other. Reporting someone blocks them too, and sends the report to our moderators with a copy of your conversation with them, including voice notes, and of their profile as it was at that moment. That way a moderator can see what happened even if the match ends or either of you deletes your account. Our Privacy Policy explains how long we keep it.

These measures reduce risk; they cannot remove it. We do not run criminal-record or background checks, and we cannot promise that any member is honest, single or safe to meet.

Please look after yourself: meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, arrange your own way home, and never send money to someone you have met here, however strong the story.

7. Moderation, suspension and appeals

Our moderators review reported members and content. We may remove content, or suspend an account, if it breaks these Terms, if we reasonably believe it is fake, fraudulent or a risk to others, or if the law requires it. In serious cases we act first, to protect members, and explain afterwards. A person decides every suspension; our automatic checks never suspend anyone by themselves.

A suspended account is signed out everywhere and cannot be used. We keep a one-way scrambled (hashed) copy of its email address, so that address cannot be used to sign up again, even if the account is later deleted.

If we suspend your account or remove your content, we will tell you why, unless doing so would put someone at risk, undermine an investigation or break the law. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal. Section 13 explains how, and how to report content or complain about how we handled a report.

8. Your content

The photos, words, voice notes and anything else you add to the Service ("your content") remain yours.

So that we can run the Service, you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, resize and re-encode your content (for example, to remove location data from photos), and to show it to the members who are allowed to see it. We use this permission only to operate the Service — never to advertise with your content, sell it or give it to anyone else.

This permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for anything we must keep for safety or legal reasons, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Messages, voice notes and date plans you send are shared with the person you send them to. If either of you deletes your account, the conversation is deleted for both of you. The exception is a conversation that has been reported: a copy is kept as evidence, as our Privacy Policy explains.

You must own your content or have permission to use it, and it must follow these Terms. We may remove content that does not.

9. What is free, and paid plans in future

Everything on ImmigrantsDating is currently free. We do not take any payments.

Seeing who has liked you is free, and it always will be.

We may introduce optional paid plans in future. If we do, the free Service will carry on, the price (in pounds sterling, GBP, including any VAT) and what you get will be shown clearly before you buy, and you will only ever be charged if you actively choose a plan. We will update these Terms, and tell you, before any paid plan is offered.

If you do take a paid plan, you will be able to cancel it online at any time; cancelling stops future payments, and you keep what you have paid for until the end of that period. As a consumer you will also have the legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying and get a refund, less a fair amount for any part of the service you used if you asked for it to start straight away.

10. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in Settings, free of charge. Deletion takes effect immediately: your profile disappears, and your photos, voice notes, matches and conversations are deleted. Our Privacy Policy explains the limited records we keep afterwards, and why. These include copies of reported conversations, which may be kept as evidence for up to 12 months after the report is closed.

We may close accounts that have not been used for a long time, as described in our Privacy Policy, and we may end your access under section 7.

11. Changes to the Service and to these Terms

We are a young service and will keep improving it. We may add, change or remove features, and we open cities gradually. We aim to keep the Service available, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted — for example for maintenance, or because of a problem with our hosting.

We may update these Terms, for example to reflect new features or changes in the law. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in advance by email or in the app. If you do not agree with it, you can delete your account before it takes effect.

12. Our responsibility to you

We will provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. If we fall short, you have rights under UK consumer law, and nothing in these Terms takes those rights away.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude.

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these Terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable. The Service is for personal use only, so we are not responsible for business losses such as lost profits or opportunities.

Other members are responsible for what they say and do. We are not responsible for another member's conduct, online or offline, unless our own breach of these Terms or our negligence caused or contributed to the harm.

13. Reports, appeals and complaints

If something goes wrong, please tell us: we would much rather put it right. Everything goes to one address, hello@immigrantsdating.com, and complaints about your personal data can also go to privacy@immigrantsdating.com. You do not need an account, a form or any particular wording. If you cannot use email, write to us at the address in section 14.

Reporting a member or content: use Report in the app (this also blocks them), or email us. A person reviews every report within 24 hours, and straight away where someone may be at risk, such as a suspected under-18 or a threat of violence. We email you once it has been reviewed to say whether we took action. If anyone is in immediate danger, call 999 first.

Appealing a decision about you: if we suspend your account or remove your content and you think we got it wrong, email us within 14 days of our decision and tell us why. Where we can, a different moderator looks at it again, and we reply within 7 days. If we were wrong, we put it right, for example by restoring your account.

Other complaints: for example about how we handled your report or appeal, content you think we should have acted on, or anything you think breaks these Terms or our duties under the Online Safety Act 2023. Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do.

What happens next: we acknowledge every complaint, normally within 7 days and always within 30. We look into it fairly and in proportion to what is at stake, keep you updated if it takes longer than expected, and tell you the outcome and our reasons, normally within one month. If a decision was wrong, we change it. We will never treat you differently for complaining.

Complaints about your personal data follow the same process. Section 11 of our Privacy Policy covers them, including your right to complain to the ICO, the UK data protection regulator.

Ofcom regulates online safety in the UK. It does not settle individual complaints, but you can tell it about a problem with an online service at ofcom.org.uk.

14. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales; if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring them in your local courts. If you live outside the UK, you keep any protection the mandatory laws of your country give you.
