Be real
Have one account, and make sure it is really you: your real first name, your real age and recent photos of yourself.
Do not try to fool verification, for example with someone else’s face, an edited image or a photo of a screen.
Be respectful
People here come from everywhere. Imperfect English, translation tools, different customs and different ways of flirting are all welcome. Judge people by how they treat you, not by where they are from.
Take “no” for an answer. If someone does not reply, unmatches or tells you they are not interested, leave it there. Do not keep contacting someone who has made clear they do not want to hear from you.
Never ask for money
Do not ask any member for money, gifts, gift cards, cryptocurrency, bank details or financial help of any kind, however genuine the reason. This is the clearest sign of a romance scam, and it leads to permanent removal.
No sexual content, anywhere
ImmigrantsDating is not a place for sexual content. Do not post, send or share nude or sexual images, or sexually explicit content of any kind. That covers your profile and photos, messages and voice notes. It applies between matches, and even if the other person asks for it.
Do not make unwanted sexual comments or advances, or pressure anyone to send intimate images. Never share, or threaten to share, anyone’s intimate images.
Important: Intimate image abuse, and anything sexual involving someone under 18, means immediate suspension, and we may report it to the police.
No hate
Do not post or send anything that attacks people for their nationality, immigration status, race, ethnicity, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.
No harassment
Do not harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate anyone. That includes threatening to report someone’s immigration status, or using it to frighten or control them.
Adults only
You must be 18 or over to use ImmigrantsDating. Do not seek contact with anyone you know or suspect is under 18.
If you think a member is under 18, report them with the reason “Might be under 18”, or email us. We treat these reports as urgent. If we find child sexual exploitation or abuse, we suspend the accounts involved and report it to the National Crime Agency, as UK law requires.
No impersonation
Do not pretend to be someone else, run a fake or second account, or lie about who you are.
Never pretend to be, or to act for, a government or immigration official, a police officer, a lawyer, a solicitor or an immigration adviser, for example to frighten someone about their status or to ask for fees or documents. We may report this to the police or other authorities.
No commercial use
ImmigrantsDating is for meeting people, not for business. Do not:
- sell, advertise or recruit
- promote other apps or websites
- offer or seek sexual services
- use bots, scrapers or other automated tools, or copy data from the service
No sham marriages or immigration offers
Do not offer, ask for or arrange a marriage, civil partnership or relationship for immigration or visa purposes, such as a “marriage for papers”. Do not offer anyone a visa, residence or other immigration status, or help getting one, in return for money or anything else. These can be serious crimes, and we may report them to the police or other authorities.
Talking about your own journey to a new country is welcome. This rule is about using relationships or money to get immigration status.
Respect privacy and the law
Do not share someone else’s personal information, such as their contact details, address or photos, without their permission, or post anything you do not have the right to share.
Do not try to get around our security, rate limits, blocks or verification, and do not break the law or encourage anyone else to.
What happens when the rules are broken
Real people review every report, and anything our automatic checks notice. Our checks only flag things for a person to look at: they never suspend anyone by themselves.
A moderator decides, based on what happened. If no rule was broken, the report is closed, and any block stays in place. If a rule was broken, we may remove content or suspend the account. In serious cases we act first, to protect members, and explain afterwards, so a suspension can happen without a warning.
A suspended account is signed out everywhere, its profile is hidden, its verification is removed, and its email address cannot be used to sign up again.
We tell you why we suspended your account or removed your content, unless doing so would put someone at risk, undermine an investigation or break the law.
If you think we got it wrong
Email hello@immigrantsdating.com within 14 days of our decision and tell us why. You do not need a form or special wording. Where we can, a different moderator looks at it again, and we reply within 7 days. If we were wrong, we put it right, for example by restoring your account. You would then take a new selfie, because a suspension removes your verification.
For other complaints, such as how we handled your report, email hello@immigrantsdating.com. We acknowledge every complaint, normally within 7 days and always within 30, and tell you the outcome and our reasons, normally within one month. You can also tell Ofcom about a problem with an online service at ofcom.org.uk.
See something wrong? Tell us
In a conversation, tap the shield button, then Report. For anything else, email hello@immigrantsdating.com. A person reviews every report within 24 hours, and straight away if someone may be at risk.
Important: If anyone is in danger, call the local emergency number first: 999 or 112 in the UK, 112 across Europe, 911 in North America.
